Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter for WPDE-TV. She then worked as a morning reporter and anchor for WCBD TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers towards DUI cases in Charleston led to an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell was a reporter and anchor for a time working in Charleston reporting, was a co-anchor at NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving to Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent during weekends. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She also co-hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
